The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - review

I can't say I was completely over the moon happy when I first found out that the Hunger Games movie was coming out. Frankly, I thought the books never had any potential to become a film adaptation. But at the same time, I had a strange sort of curiosity to see how certain elements of the books were going to be adapted. And I was pleasantly surprised
In this sci-fi thriller, Jennifer Lawrence stars as Katniss Everdeen; a survivalist by nature; whose life revolves around hunting and trying to make ends meet in order to support her mother and her sister Prim (Primrose.) But during the Hunger Games reaping; when Prim's name is drawn for the Hunger Games, Katniss decides to step in, even if it ends up killing her.
A radiant performance from Jennifer Lawrence. Painfully realistic and beautifully dramatic. I was extremely impressed by the way that everything- from the costumes to the sets, was so perfect. Every little detail was covered and the details were what really stood out.
Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson and Elizabeth Banks made up an extremely pleasing supporting cast. However, the movie did take a little while to pick up.
If you think the books are amazing, just wait till you've seen the movie
