About this book
The 4th collection of letters by the poet, which charts his work as an editor for "The Criterion", the care of his mentally ill first wife Vivien, and the death of his mother.
Following the withdrawal of financial support by the author's patron Lady Rothermere, Faber & Gwyer takes over the responsibility for his literary periodical "The Criterion". He supplements his income as a fledgling publisher, 'just as I did ten years ago, by reviewing, articles, prefaces, lectures, broadcasting talks, and anything that turns up'.
